Self- Leadership Through Habit Formation

Habit coaching is a structured, personalized approach to assessing, refining, and building habits that align with your identity, values, and long-term goals. It’s not just about developing better routines—it’s about cultivating self-discipline through intentional habits and systems. Habits are the building blocks of our life. Like bricks in a structure, each small action we take lays another brick, shaping the foundation of who we are becoming.

At the core of Rooted Explorer Habit Coaching is the "7 I’s" framework, which helps assess the health of your current habits and supports you in identifying and implementing new ones that align with your values. This includes:

  1. Inventory – Take inventory of all habits, routines and patterns

  2. Investigate – Assess how current habits are either assets or liabilities

  3. Identity – Explore current and desired identities and values

  4. Identify - Identify new habits to implement and existing habits to interrupt

  5. Implement & Interrupt – Implement new habits, interrupt existing habits

  6. Iteration – Refining and adjusting habits based on real-life feedback.

  7. Integration – Consistency ensures habits become a natural, lasting part of your lifestyle.

Habits and self-discipline are deeply connected. While motivation comes and goes, discipline ensures we show up, even when we don’t feel like it. However, discipline isn’t about force—it’s about designing systems that remove the barriers to consistency. When habits align with your identity and values, discipline shifts from feeling like restriction and limitation to becoming a form of self-leadership that leads to freedom.

True self-leadership means taking ownership of our actions, designing our life intentionally, and leading ourselves toward growth. When we master our habits, we master our lives.

Are your habits supporting the person you want to become? Are you building a structure that supports your growth, or are your habits working against you? Let’s build something strong—brick by brick.
